Enviva Pellets Epes, LLC has applied for Air Permits that would authorize the construction and operation of a wood pellet manufacturing facility located at 790 Port of Epes Highway, Epes, Alabama 35460.  Emissions would be minimized by baghouses, bin vent filters, wet electrostatic precipitators, wet scrubbers, regenerative thermal oxidizers, and regenerative catalytic oxidizers.  Interested parties are encouraged to submit relevant comments to ADEM on the proposed permits by November 8, 2019. **

ADEM has determined that the equipment/operations proposed by the company should be able to meet State and federal air pollution control requirements.

Persons wishing to comment may do so, in writing, to the Department’s named contact below.  In order to affect final decisions, comments must offer technically substantial information that is applicable to the proposed application.  All comments must be received in the ADEM Main Office in Montgomery no later than 5:00 P.M. on the last day of the comment period.

A public hearing will be held on November 7, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. at the Livingston Civic Center on 101 Country Club Rd in Livingston, AL.  An informal information session will be held immediately prior to the hearing from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

After consideration of all written comments, review of any public hearing record, and consideration of the requirements of the Alabama Air Pollution Control Act, the Federal Clean Air Act and applicable regulations, the Department will make a final determination.  The Department will develop a response to comments, which will become part of the public record and will be posted to the Department’s eFile system.  Notice will be sent to any person requesting notice of the final action.
